Research, Reconstruction & Storytelling in Historical Dress

I am a researcher, educator, and historical costume specialist with a focus on 18th-century dress. My work is rooted in source-based research, hand sewing techniques, and close study of extant garments, through which I seek to restore intimacy with the past.

I work across museum and exhibition projects, film sets, advertising and visual campaigns, as well as private commissions. Each piece is developed through meticulous textile research and constructed using traditional methods, with respect for historical accuracy and material authenticity. While many of my projects are strictly reconstructive and research-driven, I also explore interpretative reconstruction when narrative or context allows.

My practice balances technical precision with storytelling, aiming for realism, quiet beauty, emotional depth, and a strong sense of historical presence. I approach costume not only as an object, but as a living form shaped by movement, time, and the human body.

My path into historical dress began through independent research and chance—marked by the making of my first historical gown—which grew into a long-term commitment to learning through practice. Alongside my creative work, I lead educational workshops and courses, sharing knowledge of historical fashion with students, institutions, and fellow enthusiasts.
